Other 3D Portfolio
As with the 'other' section of my design portfolio, this section contains 3D work that refuses to be pigeonholed into a specific category and test renders or one frame shots. There may also be elements of random insanity displayed on these pages.
Rotator Image Rotator Animations Logo (2002)

Rotator Animations was the name of the mock animation company myself and another student invented for our Mythworld project. We surmised that creating an identity for ourselves would help us to feel as though we were working in a professional capacity and therefore increase the quality of our work.

A friend of mine created a 2D design in Photoshop which I then used as a basis for the 3D animation. All the modelling, lighting, animating and rendering was undertaken by myself.

This logo is currently my favourite of all my 3D work, as it looks very professional and I could easily imagine it as a company logo tagged onto the intro of a computer game.

Part of the reason for the increased quality is likely down to the fact that objects and cameras are much easier to animate than 'sentient' beings. I was once told that one Pixar employee was quoted as saying during his five year employment there he had only animated 10 seconds that had made it to screen, such is the perfection required.

TURDIS Portaloo (2005)

A blatantly daft amalgamation of Doctor Who's TARDIS and a portaloo. I did this as part of a game is was playing on a forum I regularly use. It's not animated, just a one frame test render. Still, I think it looks rather good and merits inclusion. (P.S. Any Doctor Who fans reading should be aware that I know the TARDIS is four sided on the outside, but if this were an actual portaloo that wouldn't provide the occupant with much room.)
