Money Vs Love
Lyrics

The modern times we’re living in

Sometimes you feel like giving in

But that wouldn’t please the prophets, would it now?

Ultimately love will shine

Brighter than money every time

And leave the greedy stockbrokers asking how

-

THE BIG FAT CATS, SIT ON TOP OF

THEIR PILES OF CASH

AND JUST LOOK AFTER NUMBER ONE

THEY’RE ALREADY DONE

ONLY WANT, GOOD PUBLIC OPINION

IT’S ALL ABOUT, CORPORATE DOMINION

IN RECENT YEARS, IT’S A CASE OF

MONEY VS LOVE

-

You could commit suicide

You could run away and hide

But that wouldn’t please the fighters, would it now?

You can make your own luck

Don’t be swayed by the Midas touch

And laugh, as there’s another boardroom row

-

THE BIG FAT CATS, SIT ON TOP OF

THEIR PILES OF CASH

AND JUST LOOK AFTER NUMBER ONE

THEY’RE ALREADY DONE

ONLY WANT, GOOD PUBLIC OPINION

IT’S ALL ABOUT CORPORATE DOMINION

IN RECENT YEARS, IT’S A CASE OF

MONEY VS LOVE

-

Know what they say about the rich

Well it’s not true; it’s just a myth

They’re no happier than anyone else

Love’s the greatest thing, you see

You can tap in if you believe

And it’s just about the only thing that they can’t sell

It’s just as well

-

THE BIG FAT CATS, SIT ON TOP OF

THEIR MISERY

CONTEMPLATING LIFE’S MYSTERIES

THEY CAN’T BELIEVE

WHEN ALL THE MARKETING WAS DONE

THE PROFIT DIDN’T BRING THE FUN

THEY WANTED TO SEE, AND LOVE WON

Lowdown

I hate the fact that today's world is run by rich old men with their fingers in all the pies, who in turn change aspiring youngsters by brainwashing them with the capitalist doctrine. All the while a few numbers in a bank balance give them something to celebrate.

Who gives a shit if you're 2.7% up on last year if last year you made £60 million? It's not as if you're not already stupidly rich.

The message is that those of us not sitting on large bank balances shouldn't forget that love can make us happy whether or not we can afford to spoil ourselves, and that we shouldn't feel the need to become part of the corporate world to achieve something with our lives.
