Can't Please Everyone
Lyrics

Everywhere you go

People will beg to differ

And they will be bitter

Pick your faults and try your patience

Time and time again

And everywhere you go

People will judge you

On your appearance, your clothes

Think it’s clever to poke fun

But you can’t please everyone

-

OH NO YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

I’M TELLING YOU NOW IT CAN’T BE DONE

THERE’S ALWAYS GONNA BE A THORN IN YOUR SIDE

TO ATTACK YOUR MIND AND STEAL YOUR PRIDE

YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

IF IT HAPPENED I’D BE MORE THAN STUNNED

THERE ARE ALWAYS THOSE WHO DISAGREE

AND ADD TO YOUR UNCERTAINTY

-

Everywhere you go

People will oppose your views

And have another path to choose

Find your weak spot, isolate you

Then they think they’ve won

So everywhere you go

Just ignore the narrow minded

They’re not worth bothering with

Stick to your resolution

Cos you can’t please everyone

-

NO YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

I’M TELLING YOU NOW IT CAN’T BE DONE

THERE’S ALWAYS GONNA BE A THORN IN YOUR SIDE

TO ATTACK YOUR MIND AND STEAL YOUR PRIDE

YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

IF IT HAPPENED I’D BE MORE THAN STUNNED

THERE ARE ALWAYS THOSE WHO DISAGREE

AND ADD TO YOUR UNCERTAINTY

-

YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

THERE’S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO HAVE FUN

AN OPEN MIND IS WHAT YOU NEED

NOT AN OPEN MOUTH IN DISBELIEF

-

NO YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

NO YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

NO YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

NO YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE

Lowdown

When I first wrote this, it was intended to be a dance track. I had a friend at the time who was into that kind of music and he wanted to put something together. Before we got the chance to do it, we drifted apart, so I rewrote it in more of an indie style.

It's obviously about the fact that some people are incredibly difficult to please, throwing their opinions around without having thought about them very much. The main thing being of course, that you consider their opinions carefully before making your own decisions, lest you become exactly like them.
