B-Side - Concrete Street

Lyrics

Do you remember, the washer on the hedge

Do you remember, what Noz put on the garage door

Do you remember, Lucas in the bin

Do you remember, when Tom Horner fell on the floor?

-

ON CONCRETE STREET, I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT TIME

ON CONCRETE STREET, WHEN WE WERE IN OUR PRIME

ON CONCRETE STREET, AN ICY SLIDE WE MADE

ON CONCRETE STREET, IN THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

-

Do you remember, Garnett with the tots

Do you remember, what Noz did in the bag of chips

Do you remember, the paranoid family

Do you remember, when we played on the skips?

-

ON CONCRETE STREET, WE COULD PLAY ENDLESSLY

ON CONCRETE STREET, THERE WE HAD TO BE

ON CONCRETE STREET, SINCLAIRS SPOILED OUR FUN

ON CONCRETE STREET, COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY'D DONE

-

Do you remember, the ramp we all charged down

Do you remember, Mr “Santa” Brown

Do you remember, when smiler walked the streets

Do you remember, Freddo with his treats.

-

ON CONCRETE STREET, WE WERE TOLD OFF NEAR THE SWAN

ON CONCRETE STREET, WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WE'D DONE WRONG

ON CONCRETE STREET, ON A RAINY DAY

ON CONCRETE STREET, WE STILL CAME OUT TO PLAY

-

Do you remember, when we used to play Jack

Do you remember, Mork’s tyre covered in cack

Do you remember, that Asbestos leak

Do you remember, the pississippi?

-

ON CONCRETE STREET, OUR LIVES ARE SO MUCH CHANGED

ON CONCRETE STREET, OUR FRI ENDSHIPS RE-ARRANGED

ON CONCRETE STREET, WE USED TO MAKE THE RULES

ON CONCRETE STREET, NOW WE JUST PLAY POOL

Lowdown

This is the second song I ever wrote. The first being the song about the girl I mentioned which no longer exists.

Concrete Street is about the adventures of a bunch of 10-14 year old lads and the memorable moments we all take from our youth that unfortunately we can never experience again. (I say unfortunately because they were so much fun.)

I think what happens is that people pretend to grow up, turn to beer and act like all this stuff is for kids. Who gives a damn if you enjoy it?

Concrete Street is a B-side because it's quite event specific, making it more difficult for an audience to identify with.
