Don't Be Alone
Lyrics

Don’t just sit and stare

Don’t say you’re washing your hair

And don’t drag yourself down

It’s just not fair

Please come out of your box

Be happy with what you’ve got

Override despair

I know you’re scared… but

-

DON'T DON'T DON'T BE ALONE

I'M IN, JUST PICK UP THE PHONE

SITTING THERE ON YOUR OWN

WON'T BE ANY HELP

SO DO SOMETHING ELSE

-

You make that house your prison

You’re jumping to a tired rhythm

Got a staid routine

You’re like a machine

Why the hiding away?

Spending your time in the shade

Days becoming blurred

You cry unheard… so

-

DON'T DON'T DON'T BE ALONE

I'M IN, JUST PICK UP THE PHONE

SITTING THERE ON YOUR OWN

WON'T BE ANY HELP

SO DO SOMETHING ELSE

-

You’ll still be in concealment

When the morning comes

See the fear in your eyes with

The arrival of the sun

If it’s guidance you’re after

You can start a new chapter

Cos you, know, I’m the only one

-

DON'T DON'T DON'T BE ALONE

I'M IN, JUST PICK UP THE PHONE

SITTING THERE ON YOUR OWN

WON'T BE ANY HELP

SO DO SOMETHING ELSE

Lowdown

Don't Be Alone tells the story of a potential lover, reluctant to commit because he or she has been burned before.

This has led said person to stay at home most of the time, making excuses to avoid meeting new people.

The person from whose perspective the song is written is interested in the reluctant one but has to persuade them that not every relationship is destructive.
