Must Be The Holidays
Lyrics

You can tell the summer’s here again

Barbecues and postcards sent

Voices in the street talk of the sea

I remember summers past

The music of the Ice Cream van

Floating on the wind and calling me

Endless days in which to play

I hope this year will be the same

-

WARMTH SPILLING THROUGH THE CURTAIN

DUST SPIRALS IN THE GLOW

THIRTY DEGREES FOR CERTAIN

BASKING IDLY ON MY PILLOW

A WAKING TRANSFORMATION

MOTIONLESS IN THE RAYS

HERE COMES THE REALISATION

IT MUST BE THE HOLIDAYS

-

You can tell the summer’s here again

Paddling pools and grassy scent

That disruptive mower from next door

I remember summers past

Going to the beach at last

Forgetting all the gloom that came before

Endless days in which to bathe

I hope this year will be the same

-

WARMTH SPILLING THROUGH THE CURTAIN

DUST SPIRALS IN THE GLOW

THIRTY DEGREES FOR CERTAIN

BASKING IDLY ON MY PILLOW

A WAKING TRANSFORMATION

MOTIONLESS IN THE RAYS

HERE COMES THE REALISATION

IT MUST BE THE HOLIDAYS

-

You can tell the summer’s here again

Footy games and kiddies tents

Hazy tarmac melting in the heat

I remember summers past

Soundtrack by Dodgy and Cast

Every day another place to be

Endless memories to save

I hope this year will be the same

-

WARMTH SPILLING THROUGH THE CURTAIN

DUST SPIRALS IN THE GLOW

THIRTY DEGREES FOR CERTAIN

BASKING IDLY ON MY PILLOW

A WAKING TRANSFORMATION

MOTIONLESS IN THE RAYS

HERE COMES THE REALISATION

IT MUST BE THE HOLIDAYS
Lowdown

Everyone's got memories of perfect summers, or summers that they remember as perfect anyway.

Must Be The Holidays is about waking up on a summer holiday morning, with the whole world seemingly at your feet. You could do anything, but instead you stay in bed for a bit and think about the moments you've enjoyed in the past.

While you lay there at 11am, the sound of kids playing coming from a garden nearby, you wish you could experience it all again. Maybe you can, it is a holiday after all...
