Lyrics
I don’t wanna come to you, oh it wouldn’t be right
Got your own issues, I know you don’t need mine
-
There’s a part of me, wants to sanitise
My mind’s disease, and sterilise
-
I NEED A HELPING HAND
I’M NOT A CHARLATAN
I NEED A HELPING HAND
BUT I WON’T ASK
-
I don’t wanna come to you, this is not your fight
Can’t allow you to, be sucked inside
-
There’s a part of me, wants to publicise
My quandary, and analyse
-
I NEED A HELPING HAND
I’M NOT A CHARLATAN
I NEED A HELPING HAND
BUT I WON’T ASK
-
I got a wage and change in a dish
Compare me to most, I’m rich
Feel guilty for feeling like this
-
I don’t’ wanna cause a fuss, but I need to vent
Or this aching state will be permanent
-
I NEED A HELPING HAND
I’M NOT A CHARLATAN
I NEED A HELPING HAND
BUT I WON’T ASK
-
I NEED A HELPING HAND
TO FORMULATE A PLAN
I NEED A HELPING HAND
BUT I WON’T ASK

Lowdown
This one is definitely about me, but I dare say there are other people out there who do and have felt the same way.
Helping Hand started off as a song about going to someone for help when you need a quick pick me up, but it somehow took on a Zuton-esque tune and morphed into a more indecisive song about whether or not to tell someone about day to day problems and the feelings they invoke.
It stems from the fact that whenever I feel down about something, or something pisses me off, I like to complain about it. However, I immediately feel guilty for doing so when I know there are people in the world with problems a hundred times worse than my own
